Farmer Unions to Meet Tomorrow

New Delhi: After Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the rollback of the three farm laws on Friday, at least 32 farmers’ organizations from Punjab are set to meet on Saturday to take a call on their future course of actions.

The farmer unions, which have been sitting on a protest on different borders of Delhi since November last year, are likely to decide the future of their agitation and their stand on the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Meanwhile, the decision-making body of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of 40 farmers’ unions that led the stir, is slated to meet on November 21. The final call on the agitation and demands related to MSP will be discussed in this meeting, sources told India Today.

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, PM Modi on Friday announced that the government has decided to repeal the three farm laws. The government will formally repeal the three laws in the upcoming Winter Session of Parliament. (Input: Agencies)
