New Delhi: Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee penned a poem and shared it on her Facebook account congratulating the protesting farmers on the repeal of the three farm laws.
In her Facebook post, Mamata Banerjee wrote: ” The rights of food of the ones, who create food, should be given back. The revolt of the farmers has been successful. Your dreams will not be taken away,” read the post, which was written in Bengali.
“Arrogance is over. Heat, rain, and nights have passed and the sound of weapons have snatched away many lives,” read the post.
In a video message on Friday, PM Narendra Modi announced the central government’s decision to withdraw the contentious farm laws. “Whatever I did, I did for farmers,” the Prime Minister said on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti.
Mamata Banerjee, reacting to the announcement, wrote on Twitter: “My heartfelt congratulations to every single farmer, who fought relentlessly, and were not fazed by the cruelty with which @BJP4India treated you.” (Input: Agencies)
